Course Directives

Welcome to the Diploma in Women’s Studies. This course has been designed to be a practical, challenging and useful course for women.

Below you will find information on how to proceed with the course, how to submit your work, and the method of evaluation used by the tutor. Please read the information thoroughly and follow it precisely.

If you have chosen to take the complete course, you will need to start with WS101 – Spiritual Formation because this course is designed to last for several months. Once you have started this course, you may opt to complete the following classes in the order of your preference. Please follow the submission instructions for each individual course.

If you have opted to take just a few select classes, please follow the submission instructions for each individual course.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Each submission must include a coversheet with the formatting of the example given. (See page 3) This coversheet will be the source of record keeping for the college and for you.

Before you submit your work please check the following:

  1. I have reviewed and followed the course submission instructions as given.

  2. I have numbered each page except the coversheet and the bibliography.

  3. I have typed out and underlined the instructions from the module. This should be the first thing on each submission.

  4. I have attached a completed coversheet to my submission. A separate coversheet is needed for each module or project.

  5. I have included a self-addressed, stamped envelope of sufficient size. (if you are posting your submission)
Make sure the envelope is large enough to return your evaluated material. Charges for postage and envelopes, if not included as instructed, will be added to your college bill.

All papers are to be typewritten and double spaced using correct grammar and spelling. Plain text (New Times Roman size 12) is the accepted font. Work must be neatly presented and in accordance with the submission requirements of each class.

If a student does not have access to a computer or typewriter, permission must be gained from the tutor before the first submission for handwritten entries.

If you are submitting your work by email, you must also include a coversheet. Send your submission to bbcgb1@yahoo.co.uk. In the subject box please put your name and the name of the course for which you are submitting work. Email entries must follow the same format as hardcopy work.

METHOD OF EVALUATION

Grading is based upon following the requirements set out in the modules for each course, a logical approach to the material, answering of questions, and use of outside resource material, ability to make application, use of evidence, summarisation, cohesiveness of thought and conformity to accepted standards of English grammar, composition and documentation.

Please feel free to express your personal perspectives in your work. The only requirements are that you employ a sound hermeneutic, support your arguments with Scripture references, and objectively represent any ideas with which you differ.

Grading will be based on Pass, Merit and Distinction awards.

Please make copies of your work for your own protection. Baptist Bible College will not be held responsible for lost work.

TEXTS

It is the standard of Baptist Bible College to use the Authorised Version in all class teaching. However, in this course many of the text books use various versions. Though you are free to study and refer to other versions, the Authorised Version will be the required text for all submissions.

This study can be completed in a space of one to two years of home study.
