MODULE NO. 4: SOTERIOLOGY SALVATION

COURSE PURPOSE: To see the flow of God’s salvational work in both the Old Testament and the New Testament: to understand that His saving work directly involves the individual, but that Christ also died for the sins of the whole world. It is particularly necessary for the student to understand the false teaching of both Arminianism and Calvinisism.

To understand this issue it is necessary to understand what the Bible says (not what man says) about God’s sovereignty, about election, predestination, adoption and foreknowledge.

MATERIALS: The assigned text book , your Bible and the book entitled, SUBJECTS OF SOVEREIGNTY, by Andrew Telford. The material by Telford is available on-line under the title: Andrew Telford Subjects of Sovereignty.

REQUIREMENTS: Read chapters 48 through 58 in the text book and write a paper of two hundred words for each chapter. Using the book by Andrew Telford, discuss these four subjects: ADOPTION, PREDESTINATION, ELECTION AND FOREKNOWLEDGE. Please note the difference in the teaching on election on page 312 of the text book and page 50 of Telford’s book.
Be sure to evaluate the difference in these teachings as given by Telford and given in the textbook.

MEMORY VERSES: Ephesians 2.8-9 Titus 3.5

PERSONAL: Write a paper of at least two hundred words on how the study of this doctrine has impacted your life.

MODUEL NO. 5: ECCLESIOLOGY THE CHURCH

COURSE PURPOSE: To understand the wonderful truth that the Church does not take the place of Old Testament Israel, but is an entirely new revelation in the New Testament: a mystery revealed to the Apostle Paul for the first time. We see that it is God’s plan for every believer to be joined to a local, New Testament church for the purpose of fellowship, ministry, observing of the only two ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper, and obedience to the Great Commission.

Mr 14:36 And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.
